Leave
the
A1(M)
at
junction 59 (signposted
Newton Aycliffe,
Spennymoor),
then at roundabout take the 1st exit onto the
A167 (signposted
Newton Aycliffe).
At
next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the
A167
(signposted
Durham).
Continue forward onto
High Street
-
A167.
Entering
Newton Aycliffe,
at traffic signals turn left onto the
B6443 (signposted
Newton Aycliffe).
Continue on this road until you reach a roundabout. Take the 1st exit, onto
Stephenson Way, go through the narrowed "give
way to oncoming vehicles" and immediately turn right into
Macmillan Road, and right again into
Greenwell Road. Car Park is on your right.
The entrance to the
Leisure Centre is further along Greenwell Road, on the right, at the top of the steps to the Shopping
Centre. The main hall is on the first floor (stairs or lift access). |

Bleacher seating for 700, with
provision for expansion to 1,200.
Club shop at courtside. Snacks
(hot dogs etc) available in entrance foyer to court. |
HISTORY:
Belmont Wildcats competed in the
Under-20 North Division in 2004-5, and with the demise of the Under-20
competition they entered EBL3 in 2005, as Durham Wildcats.
Played for two seasons at the new
Spennymoor Leisure Centre, and moved to an upgraded Newton Aycliffe LC in 2007.

A
formal tie-up between the Durham Wildcats and Durham University, aimed at a huge
expansion of basketball development in the area, resulted in a Wildcats' second
team (consisting mainly of players from the University) being entered into
Division 4.
