HISTORY:

Team Northumbria is now the Academy team for Newcastle Eagles.

Originally entered NBL Division 3, as University of Northumbria, in 2000. Became Team Northumbria in 2003.

Won EBL Shield, and finished as runners-up in EBL3 North, in 2006. Initially they were not promoted, but moved up in late July, in the reshuffle caused by moves out of EBL1 which created promotion vacancies.

Consolidated well in EBL2, finishing fourth in their first season, and went on to win the 2007 Championship Final.
