31/10:   Results headlines:

National Trophy: Reading beat Leopards by 14, leaving the latter needing to beat London Mets (for the first time in four meetings this season) tomorrow to have any chance of reaching the quarter finals;  

EBL 1: Manchester scrape past Leicester; Bristol and Leeds also open with wins;

EBL 2: After two weekends there are only two unbeaten teams in the division! Durham extend winning run to eight in all competitions, but Northumbria go down at Glyndwr; Brixton win at Westminster, to stay top;

EBL 3: Sabres go 5&0 at top of North; Newly promoted Loughborough and Stockport keep up the chase;

London United end Oxford’s unbeaten start in South; Westside and Portsmouth keep in touch with the leaders;

EBL 4: Bury edge the top of the table clash with Hull, to go top in North; Tees Valley recover from a 14 point deficit in the first quarter at Durham, to win by 18;

EBL 1 Women: Northumbria lose heavily at UWIC, who go top; Sevenoaks move into second place;

EBL 2 Women: Mansfield beat Northumbria II to climb above them to the top of North;

U-18 Men: Manchester remain unbeaten in North Prem., but Birmingham and Stockport keep up the pressure;

Solent stay unbeaten in five in Soutth Prem., and Westminster look threatening, having poured 149 past Taunton;

East Riding Harriers are gone from North-East Conference;

 

26/10:   Their fixture was in the list on EB all weekend (as “Awaiting Result”), but now Merseyside Spartans have disappeared from Division 2 Women North.

25/10:   Results headlines:

National Trophy: Leicester make it to the quarter finals, at the expense of Arrows;         

EBL 1: London Mets inflict second defeat in two days on Leopards;  

EBL 3: Sabres stay unbeaten in North;

Portsmouth hit 103 points, but lose by 13 as Harper logs up 50 for London United in South;

EBL 4: Huddersfield keep up the heat in North;

U-18 Men’s Cup: Leicester Warriors win at North Premier Moulton, and Kingston Wildcats squeeze past Brixton; London Spartans put out United; Both of last year’s finalists go safely through - and Manchester will visit Sheffield in Round 2!;  Cup Flowchart

 

24/10:   Results headlines: Sorry about the late update - I couldn’t get mobile internet access at the Leisure Centre I was visiting, and I didn’t fancy having to extend my four hour drive home by stopping at a cafe, setting up my laptop and doing it there!

National Trophy:  Defeat at Derby leaves Arrows needing to win at Leicester by 15 tomorrow to stay in the competition;

Bristol confirm Coventry‘s exit, and need to beat Taunton by two on Thursday to claim a home berth in quarter finals;     Results / Tables     

EBL 1: London Mets hand Leopards a defeat as they open the league campaign early;     Table

EBL 2: Durham make it a seven win start to the season, as they open their league campaign with a scrappy victory at Medway Park; Home win for Northumbria over Edmonton, while Birmingham As beat Marjon convincingly;     Table

EBL 4: Essex University have suddenly disappeared from South-East, after one default and one win;

EBL 1 Women: Another huge win for Hatters;

Under-18 Men: Sharks slip up at Stockport, leaving Manchester as only unbeaten team in Premier North;

 

22/10:   Results headline:

National Cup: Holders Reading squeeze through to the third round.

 

18/10:   Results headlines:

BBL: PAWs collect their first win of the season, shocking Leicester;  newcomers Essex Pirates win at Worthing;  Eagles put yesterday’s disappointment behind them to dispose of Everton;     

National Cup: Durham Wildcats continue their great start to the season, by dumping out first division Leeds Carnegie; Brixton post a huge score against Southgate to win by 111, but Westminster trip up at home to Southgate and Stockport win at Glyndwr; Northumbria win on buzzer to put out Tees Valley; for the second time in two days, Derby take a narrow victory at Leicester; Loughborough edge through at Wellingborough; London Mets and Leopards go safely through.

 

17/10:   Results headlines:

BBL Cup: Plymouth administer Capital punishment to PAWs; Worcester take the spoils from Pirates; Sharks silence Thunder with single-point victory.     

BBL: Guildford end Newcastle‘s perfect start, in overtime; Cheshire upset Everton; Leicester collapse at home to Milton Keynes;

National Trophy:  Derby edge victory at Leicester to clinch top spot in Group 2;

Patron’s Cup: Durham complete a perfect Pool round; Mansfield beat Northumbria to take second place in North;

Wins for Westminster and Edmonton lesave four teams tied on four points in South, but the placings won’t be confirmed for four weeks, when Brixton host Westminster. By my calculation, Westminster are guaranteed a semi-final place, and will win the group if they win the last game; if Brixton win the last match, then they would qualify as winners, but if they lose, Marjon go through; Edmonton cannot qualify.,

EBL 1 Women: Ouch! Hatters hold Wellingborough to single figures, and win by margin of 110;

 

11/10:   Results headlines:

National Trophy:  Holders Reading lose at Leopards, to face the very real prospect of an early exit; Results / Tables     

Patron’s Cup: With a game to spare, Durham clinch a semi-final place, with home advantage!  

Brixton take pole position in South, and end Marjon’s interest in the competition;  

Westminster complicate the qualification further with victory over Edmonton.    Results / Tables      

 

10/10:   Results headlines:

Women’s National Cup: Having stepped down to division 2, Manchester show they’re still a force, as they win at Northumbria;

Another division 2 success saw Birmingham Force edge past Birmingham As by a single point.  Flowchart

National Trophy:  Manchester  beat Leeds for the second time, to qualify for the ¼ finals, with home advantage;

Third victory for Taunton puts them, too, into the quarters;

Patron’s Cup: Newly promoted Durham stun 2009 Finalists Northumbria with a 29-point away victory;

the As win the battle of  Birmingham,  to keep their slim hopes alive;

EBL3: Dragons and Sabres setting the pace in the North;

Oxford, Eastside and Wellingborough pull away in the South;

EBL4: Hull (North), Birmingham Mets and Nottingham (Midlands) set the early pace with 2&0 starts;

so do Essex and Lambeth (South-East), but both benefited from default victories this week;

 

27/09:   Results headlines: [Both yesterday’s missing results now available]

National Cup: Huge shock as fourth division Birmingham Mets turn over first division Coventry;

No upsets elsewhere, but Eastside hold London Mets to a single figure margin, and Bath hold the gap to eleven at Marjon;

Durham Wildcats survive a second quarter scare, and hold Huddersfield to just 2 points (from the line!) in the fourth quarter.     Cup flowchart

 

26/09:   Results headlines:

National Cup: Having forfeited their Shield game last week, Team Birmingham (“the new Birmingham Bullets”?) crash out of the Cup in the same manner!

Bradford Dragons lead Sheffield Arrows for three quarters, but fall by six;

Leicester Warriors also uphold the honour of Division 1;

Liverpool dropped out of the Cup during the week.

National Trophy: Solomon Ayinla rolls back the years to lead London Mets to the best possible start - victory over the Leopards;

Bristol edge a 3-point win at Coventry;      Results / Tables     

Patron’s Cup: A bad day for Birmingham as Mansfield thrash their University hosts, and the As lose heavily to visitors Durham;
